A South View of a Villa at Grove Hill, Camberwell, Surry, belonging to John Coakley Lettsom MD. The house, with three stories and a semi-circular bay, is seen from the back garden where a baby is pulled (and pushed) on a baby carriage, a gentleman converses with three ladies, and a gardener tends one of the borders. John Coakley Lettsom MD (1744-1815) was a prominent Quaker, founder and second president (c. 1774-1786) of the London Society of Medicine.
