West View of Blackwell Hall, King Street Cheapside
West View of the Bakewell or Blackwell Hall, rebuilt in the 1670s after the Great Fire and demolished in 1820 to make way for a new Bankruptcy Court. It was the site of a woollen cloth market from the 13th century. The print includes a plan showing it abutting the Guildhall and bounded by King Street, Cateaton Street and Basinghall Street - the latter remains, just south of London Wall. It has two internal courtyards, and is in use as warehousing, stabling, a Land Tax Office and a kitchen for the neighbouring Guildhall Coffee House.
