The Gun
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Gun (a cannon), in Ratcliffe Highway (now The Highway), Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2369; Obv inscription: AT.THE.GVNN.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A cannon mounted on a carriage (in field); Rev inscription: RATLIFE.HIGH.WAY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.A.T. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
