A missionary at Caledonian Cattle Market
A London City Missionary talking to a trader at the Caledonian Livestock Market, Islington, c.1902. The market was established by the Corporation of London in 1855, but by 1930 livestock trading had ceased and Caledonian Market had become London's largest open-air market for brick-a-brack. After the Second World War the market transferred to Bermondsey and the Islington site was redeveloped as a housing estate
