Seal impression
Seal impression in dark red plaster, with a gold coloured border, and a blue edge of the seal of Francis II and Mary Queen of Scots (obverse). The image depicts a woman (Mary Queen of Scots) and a man, Francis II, seating at a throne, holding a ceptres. The text around the image reads: 'FRANCIS ET MARIA D G R R FRANCOR SCOT ANGL ET HYBER'. 'Francis MA 1559' and the number '56' are etched on the reverse, but the number is crossed over in pencil, and the number 59 is written in pencil under it.
