Saxon & Medieval — Saxo-Norman
Comb
This is a bone sideplate from a double-sided composite comb. It is held together by two iron rivets. To make a composite comb, flat 'tooth-plates' would be riveted between two side plates. The flat tooth-plate would then have teeth cut out of it. There is no visible decoration on this piece.
