Axehead
Bronze axehead with loop, and narrow blade with trident pattern. Casting seams incompletely trimmed, and end of butt broken. Remains of ash wood haft preserved in flanges radiocarbon dated to 1390-1060BC. Industrial phase: Penard. Found with another bronze axehead (accession number A17107) on the site of a wooden 'pile dwelling' in the Thames at Barnes, above the railway bridge, on 3rd July 1916.
