Double-sided comb
Bone comb with a decorative plate riveted along the centre. The plate is engraved with lines around the edge and a row of circular holes along the middle. There are narrow teeth on one side of the comb and thicker teeth on the other. Although medieval doctors were uncertain whether bathing was good for you ('in time of pestilence avoid baths'), objects such as this comb show that medieval Londoners cared about personal grooming.
