Saxon & Medieval — Late Medieval; 14th-15th century
Whistle
It is likely that this whistle (75.1/16) had a double-headed eagle design as a similar whistle has been found by a metal detectorist from the Hastings Area Recovery and Preservation Society. The metal-detected example had its eagle heads intact. It was found on the beach at Bexhill-on-Sea near the rowing club, which is near the De La Warr Pavillion. It is dated to the 14th to 15th century.
