A Lady of Quality in the Birth day Court Dress January 18th 1808

Hand coloured engraving on paper. Fashion plate depicting a female, front view. She is wearing a court dress, high waist with panniers, in yellow and blue, decorated with yellow trim (fringe?). Blue overskirt and train with yellow trim. The bodice is decorated with lace. The bodice seems to partially match the quilted (?) petticoat. Short blue sleeves, decorated with yellow trim. Long white gloves. Her hair is decorated with two white on a yellow hair clip. There are two tails from a bow of white lace visible coming from the back of her hair. She is holding a closed white fan on her right hand. On her neck there is a beaded necklace in two rows. She has drop earrings. The floor is decorated with a geometrical pattern in green. Printed in black ink with the text, 'A Lady of Quality in the Birthday Court Dress Jan.y 18.1808/ Engraven for the 27 Number of La Belle Assemble Publish' Feb.y 1.1808'. Mounted on white card.
