Social History — 1998
Badge, lapel badge
This badge was produced for the Countryside Alliance march that took place in London on 1 March 1998. The main issue motivating the marchers was the Labour government's plans to ban hunting with dogs. At the time a private member's bill to ban hunting tabled by the Labour MP Michael Foster had passed its second reading in the House of Commons.
The Countryside Alliance was formed in July 1997 from a nucleus of three other organisations: the British Field Sports Society, the Countryside Business Group and the Countryside Movement.
