Decorative arts — 1851
Ornament
Miniature coach drawn by two horses, with two coachmen. This decoration is said to have been on display at James Powell and Sons' stand at the Great Exhibition in 1851. It may have been made by a lampmaking customer of Powells, rather than at the Whitefriars glasshouse. It is made from glass canes reheated and manipulated over a lamp flame.
