The Bell and Three Cranes
Richard Lawton issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Bell and Three Cranes, by the Savoy.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2743; Obv inscription: RICHARD. LAWTON. AT. YE. BEL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bell and HIS HAL / PE NY (in two lines of Roman capitals with Bell between, in field); Rev inscription: AND.3.CRANES.BY.YE.SAVOY.67 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three cranes (in field).
