Joanne Law issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for her business at the sign of the Key, in Ratcliffe Highway (now The Highway), Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2352; Obv inscription: IOANE.LAW.AT.YE.KEY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A key (in field); Rev inscription: AT.RATLIFE.HIGH.WAY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.L (in field, in Roman capitals).
Ratcliffe Highway (now The Highway), lies in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, having previously been part of Middlesex.
