The Three Pigeons
Thomas Green issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Three Pigeons in Creed Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 785; Obv inscription: THOMAS.GREEN.AT.YE.THREE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three pigeons T.M.G. (triad of initials in Roman capitals with birds below, in field); Rev inscription: PIGEONS.IN.CREED.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
