Printed Ephemera — 1913-01
The Church League for Women's Suffrage January to December 1913
Bound volume of journals produced by The Church League for Women's Suffrage for 1913.
The CLWS was founded in 1909 to 'band together, on a non-party basis, Suffragists of every shade of opinion who are Church people in order to secure for women the vote in Church and State, as it is or may be granted to men'. The league also campaigned for the revision of the marriage service in the Book of Common Prayer and, after World War I, led a drive for the ordination of women. By the end of 1913 the CLWS had 103 branches and 5,080 members.
