The Half Moon
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the sign of the Half Moon, in Bedlam (Old Bethlem neighbourhood, now Liverpool Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 179; Obv inscription: THE.SINE.OF.THE.HALF (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A half moon (in field); Rev inscription: MOVN.IN.BEDLAME (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.B (in field, in Roman capitals).
