The Prince of Wales Feathers
William Leamon issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the Three Feathers tavern in Aldersgate Street, Aldersgate Ward, City of London. The name of the tavern is recognised by the depiction of the Prince of Wales' feathers.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 42; Obv inscription: WILL.LEAMON.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The Prince of Wales feathers (in field); Rev inscription: IN.ALDERSGATE.STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.A.L. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
