Playbill for the Britannia Theatre, Hoxton advertising entertainment for April and May 1882. The bill includes a variety of entertainment from Dare's American Pantomime, including Sillo & Zetti the flying wonders, and performances of 'Our Lot in Life', 'String of Pearls' and 'Tom and Jerry or Life in London'.
Under Sara Lane's management, the Brittania performed melodramas after their runs in the West End theatres had finished. The low ticket prices, listed here as 3d for entrance to the Gallery, meant that the theatre was affordable for local East Enders, who called Sara Lane the 'Queen of Hoxton'.
