Printed Ephemera — 1836-1846
The little mechanic
Children's book titled 'the Little Mechanic; or, Book of Trades', text divided into chapters relating to various trades such as 'The Stone Mason' and 'The Carpenter'. For each chapter one full page is dedicated to illustrating a particular trade. Colour illustrations show tradesmen at work and tools of the trade. Book has soft card green cover with central black and white illustration of of an exhibition or demonstration surrounded by individual illustrations of tools. Back cover printed with list of other titles produced in the 'Series of School Catechisms'.
