Badge, souvenir medallion
Souvenir medallion commemorating the reign and death of King Edward VII. The gilt metal badge is in the form of a medallion stamped with a profile of the King's head and the wording 'Edward VII 1901-1910.' A pin and clasp is attached to the reverse of the medal for attaching to clothes. This souvenir was purchased for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 18th May 1910 within two weeks of the death of the King. it was one of 13 penny commemoratives purchased from street traders by King in May 1910.
