Badge, souvenir brooch
Souvenir badge issued to commemorate the coronation of King George V. The badge includes a colour chromolithographed portrait of George V and Queen Mary within an alloy metal frame painted gold in the shape of an eight pointed star. On the back is a pin for attaching the badge to clothes. This coronation souvenir was purchased by Ernest King for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 21st June 1911. Ernest King purchased 16 penny coronation souvenirs in June 1911, both before and after the coronation date of 23rd June.
