Prehistoric — Late Neolithic
Jar
Fragment of the rim, neck and body of a Peterborough ware jar (Mortlake/Fengate type) with deep finger impressions on the neck. Casts taken of the finger impressions show that it had been decorated by someone with slender fingers and long fingernails, probably a woman or child.
