Prehistoric — Middle-Late Iron Age
Brooch
Bronze brooch (La Tene II) with simple elongated 'wire' bow; four coil spring with external chord; a short catch-plate ornamented with notched decoration; and a re-curving disc foot which aligns with the curve of the bow and is held by an ill-fitting three-stranded collar. The pin is missing and the junction of bow and catch plate has been repaired by the finder. Found on the Thames foreshore at Wandsworth in 1977.
