Prehistoric — Late Bronze Age
Axehead, socketed axehead
Bronze socketed axehead of 'south-eastern' type. It has a square-sectioned mouth, casting flashes survive down both faces and around the loop. It has a lustrous, mottled olive-green/reed green patina which has been chipped in several places around the socket mouth. The cutting edge has been chipped too and a metal sample removed. Part of a hoard of five axeheads found near plots 28-29, on a building site in Disraeli Road, Park Royal, Brent, February 1975.
