Rim and wall sherd from a large situlate jar. The brownish fabric has coarse flint grit. From the Thames at Mortlake, this fragment joins another, A17301, found separately. (A 'situlate' jar has a wide mouth, short everted neck, high shoulders and straight sides, tapering in towards the base.)
