Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of the Roman Republic. The coin depicts Diana, the Roman goddess of the moon, hunting and birth and Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was minted under the authority of the moneyer, Ti. Claudius Ti.f. Ap.n., in Italy, 78-77 BC.
Obv: Draped and diademed bust of Diana, facing right, with a quiver and bow at her shoulder. Obv inscription: SC. Rev: Victory, advancing right in a biga (a chariot), holding a palm ranch and wreath. Rev inscription: CXXXV, TI CLAVD TI F AR N in exergue. Countermarked with crescents on the obverse.
