Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of the Roman Republic. The coin depicts Roma, the female personification of Rome and the Dioscuri, the twin sons of Leda and Zeus, Castor and Pollux. This coin was minted under the authority of the moneyer, L. Julius, in Rome, Italy, c. 133-126 BC.
Obv: Helmeted head of Roma, facing right. Obv inscription: XVI. Rev: Castor and Pollox, on horsback, advancing right, holding lances. Rev inscription: L IVLI [ROMA].
