Coin copy?, sestertius
A copper alloy sestertius coin, possibly a contemporary copy, of Emperor Septimius Severus(?), ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 193-211. The back of the coin may depict Annona, the female personification of the Roman grain supply. This coin was made c. AD 193-197.
Obv: Laureate head of Septimius Severus(?), facing right. Obv inscription: ...[S]EPT SE[V]... AVG TR P... . Rev: Annona(?), standing left, holding corn-ears(?) over a modius with her right hand and a cornucopia in the left . Rev inscription: SC in field.
