Coin, siliqua
A silver siliqua coin of Emperor Valens, ruler of the Eastern Roman Empire, AD 364-378. The back of the coin depicts Roma, the female personification of Rome. This coin was minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany), AD 367-375.
Obv: Draped, diademed bust of Valens, facing right. Obv inscription: DN VALENS P F AVG. Rev: Roma, enthroned left, holding Victory on a globe in her right hand and a vertical spear in the left. Rev inscription: VRBS ROMA, TRPS. in exergue.
