A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Valentinian I, ruler of the Western Roman Empire, AD 364-375. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the roman goddess of victory. This coin was minted in Aquileia, Italy, AD 364-378.
Obv: Diademed bust of Valentinian, facing right. Obv inscription: DN VAL[ENTINIA]NVS P F AVG. Rev: Victory, advancing left, holding a wreath in her right hand and a palm in the left. Rev inscription: SECVRIT[AS REIPVBLIC]AE, SMAQS in exergue.
