Coin, nummus AE3
A copper alloy nummus of Constantius Gallus, Caesar (Crown Prince) of the Eastern Empire under Emperor Constantius II, AD 351-354. The back of the coin depicts a fallen horseman. This coin was minted in Ambianum (modern day Amiens, France), AD 353
Obv: Draped, bare-headed bust of Constantius Gallus, facing right. Obv inscription: DN CONST[AN]TIVS NO... . Rev: A soldier, standing left, spearing a fallen horseman, extending his left arm in defence. Rev inscription: [RE]PARATIO, AM[B] in exergue.
