Coin, nummus AE1
A copper alloy nummus of Magnentius, usurper of the Roman Empire, AD 350-353. The back of the coin depicts the Chi-Rho. This coin was minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany), AD 352-353.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and bare-headed bust of Magnentius, facing right. Obv inscription: DN MAGNENTIVS P F AVG. Rev: Chi-Rho, flanked by alpha and omega (A ω). Rev inscription: SALVS DD [NN AVG ET] CAES, TRP in exergue.
