Coin, nummus AE2
A copper alloy nummus of Magnentius, usurper of the Roman Empire, AD 350-353. The back of the coin depicts the emperor. This coin was minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany), AD 350-351.
Obv: Bare head of Magnentius, facing right. Obv inscription: [IM CAE MAG]NENTIVS AVG. Rev: Magnentius, standing left, holding victory on a globe in his right hand and a labarum (a military standard depicting the Chi-Rho). Rev inscription: FELICITAS REIPVBLICAE, A in field (right), TRP in exergue.
