Coin, nummus AE3
A copper alloy nummus of Constantine II. Emperor Constantine II ruled as co-emperor of the Roman Empire alongside his brothers, Constantius II and Constans, AD 337-340. The back of the coin depicts a military camp gate. This coin was minted in Nicomedia (modern day İzmit, Turkey), AD 325-326.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and laureate bust of Constantine II, facing left. Obv inscription: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB [C]. Rev: a military camp gate, with two turrets and a star above. Rev inscription: PROVIDENTIAE CAESS, MNΓ in exergue.
