Coin, nummus AE4
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Claudius Gothicus, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 268-270, struck by Emperor Constantine I, to commemorate the deified emperor. The back of the coin depicts an eagle. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 317-318.
Obv: Draped, veiled and laureate head of Constantine I, facing right. Obv inscription: DIVO CLAVDIO OPT IMP. Rev: An eagle, standing right, looking left. Rev inscription: MEMORIAE AETERNAE, RT in exergue.
