Coin, nummus AE3
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Licinius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 308-324. The back of the coin depicts Jupiter, king of the Roman gods. This coin was minted in Cyzicus (in modern day Balıkesir Province, Turkey), AD 321-324.
Obv: Laureate head of Licinius, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP C VAL LICIN LICINIVS P F AVG. Rev: Jupiter, standing left, holding Victory on a globe in his right hand and a sceptre in the left, an eagle with a wreath is standing by his feet. Rev inscription: IOVI CONSERVATORI, X IIΓ in field (right), SMK... in exergue.
