Coin, radiate
A copper alloy radiate coin of Emperor Tetricus I, ruler of the Romano-Gallic Empire, AD 271-274. The back of the coin depicts Laetitia, the female personification of happiness and joy. This coin was minted in the Gallic Empire, unidentified mint II, AD 271-274.
Obv: Cuirassed and radiate bust of Tetricus I, facing right. Obv inscription: ...[TETRICV]S P F AVG. Rev: Laetitia, standing left, holding a wreath/purse in her right hand and an anchor in the left. Rev inscription: LAETI[TIA AVG(G)]. Pierced at a later date.
