Coin, radiate
A copper alloy radiate coin of Emperor Maximian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 286-305. The back of the coin depicts the prince and Jupiter, king of the Roman gods. This coin was minted in Antioch (modern day Antakya, Turkey), AD 293.
Obv: Draped and radiate bust of Maximian, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP C MA MAXIMIANVS AVG. Rev: Prince, standing right, receiving a small victory on a globe from Jupiter, standing left, holding a vertical sceptre in his left hand. Rev inscription: CONCORDIA MILITVM, E in field (centre), XXI in exergue.
