Coin, radiate
A copper alloy radiate coin of Tetricus II. In AD 273, Tetricus II was elevated to the position of Caesar (Crown Prince) by his father, Tetricus I, ruler of the Romano-Gallic Empire, AD 271-274. This coin was minted in the Gallic Empire, unidentified mint I, AD 272-274.
Obv: Draped and radiate bust of Tetricus II, facing right. Obv inscription: C PIV ES[V TETRICVS CAES]. Rev: Tetricus II, standing left, holding a patera (dish) in his right hand and a sceptre in the left. Rev inscription: [PRI]NC IVVEN[T].
