Coin, radiate
A silver radiate coin of Emperor Valerian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 253-260. The back of the coin depicts Apollo, the Graeco-Roman god of medicine, healing, music, arts and prophecy. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, 256-257AD.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and radiate bust of Valerian, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP C P LIC VALERIANVS AVG. Rev: Apollo, standing left, holding a branch in his right hand and a lyre in the left. Rev inscription: APOLINI CONSERVA.
