Coin, as
A copper alloy as coin of Emperor Antoninus Pius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 138-161. The back of the coin depicts Britannia, the female personification of Britain. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 154-155.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and laureate bust of Antoninus Pius, facing right. Obv inscription: ANTO[NINVS AVG PIVS PP] TR P XVIII. Rev: Britannia, seated left on rocks, holding her right hand to her head, in front, to left, is a large round shield with a central spike, with a transverse sceptre standing behind her. Rev inscription: BRIT[ANNIA COS I]III, SC in exergue.
