A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was minted in AD 103-111.
Obv: Laureate bust of Trajan, facing right, left shoulder draped. Obv inscription: IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TR P COS V PP. Rev: Victory, standing right, fastening a shield inscribed VIC.DAC to a palm tree. Rev inscription: SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI, SC in field.
