Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Mars, the Roman god of war. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 98-99.
Obv: Laureate head of Trajan, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP CAES NERVA TRAIAN AVG GERM. Rev: Mars, advancing right, holding a transverse spear in the his right hand and a military trophy, carried over his shoulder, in the left. Rev inscription: PM TR P COS IIII PP.
