A copper alloy as coin of Emperor Vespasian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 69-79. The back of the coin depicts Aequitas, the female personification of fair-dealing. This coin was minted in Lugdunum (modern day Lyon, France), AD 77-78.
Obv: Laureate head of Vespasian, facing right, globe at point of bust. Obv inscription: IMP CAES VESP[ASIAN] AVG COS VIII PP. Rev: Aequitas, standing left, holding scales in her right hand and a rod in the left. Rev inscription: AEQVIT[AS AVGVSTI], SC in field.
