Visit to the Zoological Gardens
Children's book with the full title 'Henry and Emma's visit to the zoological gardens, in the Regent's Park; with an account of what they saw there interspersed with a description of the peculiar manners and habits of the various animals contained therein'. The book published by A.K. Newman and company and printed by Dean and Munday is written by James Bishop and 'embellished with twelve illustrative and appropriate coloured engravings' by George Pickering. The book gives a detailed description of the zoo and many of the animals and is enclosed in soft card yellow covers, the front cover printed with the shortened title 'Visit to the Zoological Gardens'. This was one in a series of 'nursery and toy books' printed by Dean and Munday and sold for one shilling each.
