Medal, commemorative medal
Bronze medal commemorating the opening of London Bridge. One side has the head of William IV facing right. The other side has a view of the bridge and the inscription: 'London Bridge' above and 'Commenced 15 June 1825. Opened 1 August 1831. The medal was desinged by Benjamin Wyon (1802-1858) and his mark 'Benj Wyon F' appears on both sides of the medal. One gold medal of the same design was struck and presented to the King at the opening ceremony.
