Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by the oil merchant John Farquhar located at 73 Cornhill. The address is enclosed in a roundel signed by the engraver Garnett Terry. Dated June 18 1783, the invoice refers to the supply of grocery goods to a Mr Gordon including anchovies, mangoes, olives, capers, cloves, nutmegs, morrels, pepper and pickles.
