Coin, radiate
A copper alloy radiate coin of Emperor Postumus, ruler of the Romano-Gallic Empire, AD 260-269. The back of the coin depicts Jupiter, king of the Roman gods. This coin was minted at the principle mint(s) of the Gallic Empire, AD 260-269.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and radiate bust of Postumus, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP C POSTVMVS P F AVG. Rev: Jupiter, walking left, looking right, holding a thunderbolt in his raised right hand with his left hand outstretched. Rev inscription: IOVI PROPVGNAT. Part of a hoard from Fenchurch Street, City of London, 1926.
