Medal, commemorative medal
Bronze commemorative medal for the Medical Society of London being instituted. Obverse depicts draped bust of Queen Charlotte bare head left. Obverse inscription: 'Charlotta dei gra mag bri fra et hib regina'. Reverse depicts female in Roman garb standing holding staff sacrificing at an altar entwined with a serpent. Reverse inscription: 'saluti augustae / soc med lond instituta MDCCLXXIII'. With maker's marks: 'Kirk F' and 'Kirk'.
